Calgary's Trending Areas

Some of the fastest appreciating communities in the city can be found in the Inner City. Prompted by an area-wide redevelopment, Inner City homes are once again growing in popularity. In particular Eau Claire, Elboya, Altadore, Victoria Park, and Connaught are among the fastest appreciating neighbourhoods in Calgary.

Calgary Real Estate Quadrants at a Glance

Calgary, like many large cities is divided into four quadrants: NE Calgary, NW Calgary, SE Calgary and SW Calgary. Each quadrant features a range of housing options. Where you end up will likely depend on your budget, and your unique lifestyle.

Southeast Calgary

Southeast Calgary real estate is well-known for its abundance of waterfront homes. While single-family homes dominate, apartment-style condos offer first-time buyers lots of options. Recreation is also a way of life here, with numerous golf courses, fishing holes, and natural areas to explore. Try looking in Auburn Bay, McKenzie Lake, Cranston or Mahogany.

Southwest Calgary

Southwest Calgary is full of contrasts. On one hand you have starter homes, great for first-time buyers. On the other hand, you have some of the most expensive homes in the city. Like much of city, this area is undergoing a revitalization as older homes make way for new developments and infills. Northwest Calgary

If you're in the market for a new home, Northwest Calgary is a great place to start your search. From entry-level condos to upscale single-family residences, this quadrant has a nice cross-section of homes to choose from. Neighbourhoods take advantage of the stunning Prairie landscape, and many offer up fantastic views. Notable communities include Arbour Lake, Bowness, Hillhurst and Sunnyside.
