Parkland is a residential neighbourhood in the south-east quadrant of Calgary. It is bounded to the north by Canyon Meadows Drive, to the east by Bow Bottom Trail and to the south and west by Fish Creek Provincial Park.
Parkland is named for its location beside Fish Creek Provincial Park, and has a 20 metre wide strip along the escarpment bordering the park ensuring full public access. Access to the Deerfoot Trail from the community (via Bow Bottom Trail) makes downtown and the city's airport quickly accessible.
Most of the recreation is around Fish Creek Park, with its recreational pathways that link tot he Bow River pathway system to the east. The community is very accessible to Lake Sikome (via Bow Bottom Trail), an artificial summertime swimming lake on the south side of Fish Creek Park.
