Tuscany is a residential neighbourhood in the north-west quadrant of Calgary. It is located at the western edge of the city, and is bounded to the south of Crowchild Trail, and west of Stoney Trail. Stoney Trail connects the community to the Trans-Canada Highway, just west of Canada Olympic Park, and will soon be extended eastwards to the Deerfoot Trail and the Trans-Canada eastbound. in 2008, Calgary transit will extend the Northwest LRT to nearby Crowfoot, speeding transit time to downtown commuters.
The area has and extensive natural ravine system and a creek, and includes a native archaeological dig. There are two ball diamonds and a soccer pitch on a 14-acre school board/city joint-use site. There is also a water feature/skating oval, basketball court, a pair of tennis courts, a tot lot, patio, picnic area, and gazebo. The community includes a 170 acre natural ravine system. There is a new Tuscany Club for residents, with a 16000 ft recreational facility, hockey rink, skating pond in a 6 acre park, as well as other sporting areas. The area is close to a multiplex movie theatre at Crowfoot Plaza, and there is a golf course in the SW corner of the development.
