Auburn Bay is one of Calgary's newest communities in the SE quadrant of the city. The first homes in the area were built in 2004, and while the majority of the area appears to be fully developed, one can still find opportunities to purchase a new construction home in 2018.
The community was designed and developed by Carma Development and includes homes built by reputable home builders. According to the 2014 City of Calgary Census, Auburn Bay contains a total of 1,995 dwellings. 1,680 properties are single-family homes, 270 homes are attached style properties, and 40 units are condo style apartments.
The demand for housing in Auburn Bay is expected to increase over the coming years as the community is starting to mature. The nearby shopping experiences in Seton and the adjacent South Calgary Health Centre is going to continue to be a strong appeal for professionals and families to move into the community.
Home values in Auburn Bay have been reasonably steady over the years. The stability in real estate values in the area is mainly due to the strong demand and relatively scarce supply. The McKenzie Towne Centre is very accessible to residents of this community, and it is one of the most frequented shopping centers in the area.
