Beltline Real Estate Information

Beltline is an area of Calgary that's located immediately to the south of the city's downtown. While sometimes considered as part of downtown, it's officially bounded by 14th Street to the west, 17th Avenue to the south, and Elbow River to the east.

While many people know of this area being a hub for entertainment, it's history is unique. Beltline is made up of two districts: Connaught (established in 1905) and Victoria (established in 1914).

Fast forward to today, and Beltline is an active and vibrant place to live and all the nearby amenities make the area an attractive community to own real estate. It's a melting pot of different cultures that brings excitement to residents of all ages.

Within Beltline one of the most popular places to visit is 17th Avenue. This is a shopping strip with clothing shops, restaurants, and boutiques as far as the eye can see. It's also home to a coffeehouse district, bars, and clubs for added entertainment.

For those looking for art, they'll enjoy the design district that's located at 10th and 12th avenue. This features art galleries, cafes, and other unique design spots. During the summer it's common to see most of the outdoor areas jam-packed with visitors and residents looking to go to lunch or take care of shopping. It's a very active area with a lot to do and a lot to see.

Sheldon Chumir Health Centre is in very close proximity to Beltline, offering many clinics and an urgent care facility as well. When it comes to schools, there are many that serve residents in Beltline, including both public and private.

Those interested in the rodeo will enjoy the Calgary Stampede, which is located on the east side of the Beltline. This is home to an annual rodeo show as well as festivals and shows throughout the year. This is just around the corner from the Talisman Centre sporting complex where visitors can see games all year. 


Beltline Recreation and Activities

Residents here have many choices of parks to play an exercise in. Central Memorial and Haultain Park are just a couple that is beautifully designed with incredible landscaping. Bealieu Garden is another outdoor treasure, featuring beautiful themed gardens each year. The Lougheed House situated next to the gardens is a great place to visit for those looking to learn more about Calgary's history.
