Bowness Real Estate Information

Taking a look at its history, the area first got its start when the land was owned by an Englishman named James Hextall. While living in a ranch house he planned to turn the area into an exclusive bedroom community.

After donating a portion of the land to the city (including Bowness Park) in 1911, he received in return extended streetcar access to the area. After this, the population slowly but steadily grew.

Eventually, in 1964 the city annexed Bowness and began putting changes in place. Years later this led to a full area redevelopment plan, which has given a much-needed facelift to this community.

New flags took the place of those that were torn, cobblestone walks replaced broken streets, and landscaping was designed to spruce up the homes and businesses in the area. As a result, this community became more gentrified, and the population grew to over 11,611 people in 2014. These residents lived in over 5,089 homes, which consisted of single-family properties, condominiums, and apartments.

The real estate in Bowness is diverse with a range of different styles and prices, and that has allowed buyers with all budgets to find properties that appeal to them. From affordable starter homes to custom Craftsman homes can be seen for sale in Bowness, and there are many other beautiful options to choose from.

What's even better is the fact that the positive changes within the community have helped to strengthen property values while encouraging new residents to move to the area.
