Bridlewood in South Calgary

 Bridlewood is a residential neighbourhood established in the late 90s, located in the desirable southwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It’s bordered by 162nd Avenue to the north, Sarcee Trail Extension to the west, Macleod Trail to the east, and Marquis of Lorne Trail to the south. This convenient location is also shared with several nearby communities, including Evergreen and Somerset. With the population grew quickly, Bridlewood has become one of the top places to buy a house on the southwestern edge of Calgary at an affordable rate when compared to real estate prices in surrounding communities in the South.

Bridlewood Recreation & Things to Do

When Bridlewood was created, it was designed with plenty of open space to be used for community activities, parks, and schools. These open spaces still exist today, allowing residents to maximize their enjoyment outside. Bicycle pathways perfectly accompany these meadows and parks, offering residents easy ways to travel around the community and visit their neighbours. Trails can also be used for idle walks where anyone can take in the beautiful scenery while getting a glimpse of the wildlife that’s often nearby.

On the east side of the neighbourhood, residents will find the gorgeous Bridlewood Creek Wetland. This is a quaint wetland and sanctuary for many times of birds, plants, and flowers. For residents who want to visit Bragg Creek, they’ll enjoy being able to bike or drive there using the closely located Highway 22x.

The Southland Leisure Centre is another fun place for families to visit throughout the year. It's minutes away from the community and offers 227,000 square feet of exciting recreation space.
