Bankview Real Estate Information

Bankview is a quiet community located in Southwest Calgary. The roots go all the way back to 1883 when the land was used mainly for farming and ranching. As Calgary began to expand, one of the owners of the land named William Nimmons decided to sell. Upon doing so in 1905, the expansion of the community soon followed.

At the beginning of the twentieth century, Bankview was annexed by the City of Calgary. Development slowly continued until the 1950s when Calgary's economy began to boom.

Unfortunately as the construction of homes, apartments, and condos went up, it was apparent the land was not nearly large enough to accommodate all residents. This triggered the creation of the Bankview Area Redevelopment Plan in 2002, which addressed land, open spaces, transportation, social needs, and infrastructure for the next decade. The city worked together with local residents to address each of these areas and in turn, Bankview became the beautiful community it is now.

To make this community even better, there’s something available for every price range, as there are single-family homes, estate-style homes, condos and townhouses all intermingled together and offering many options for buyers considering owning real estate in Bankview.
