Greenview Real Estate Information
Greenview is a beautiful community located in the southwest quadrant of Calgary. Its history is unique, as it first started out in 1954 as part of the larger community of Thorncliffe. However, in 1991 Greenview was established as its own independent community.
The majority of properties here are single-family dwellings as well as a selection of townhouses and condos. The architecture of these homes is generally a bit older, although some homeowners have taken the time to remodel to reflect more contemporary styles both on the exterior and interior of their properties.
Greenview is the ideal community for homeowners who want to live close to the downtown core without being in the middle of it. This neighbourhood is quiet, safe, and packed full of amenities and recreational opportunities nearby.
The aesthetics of the community are also delightful, with well-paved streets that are lined with trees, clean sidewalks, and beautiful landscaping throughout. It's one of the few places in Calgary that's surrounded by Greenery while remaining so close to the action of downtown.
Greenview Amenities and Highlights
Greenview is located directly west of the Calgary International Airport, which is right next door to the massive Deerfoot Mall. The road that separates these from the community is Deerfoot Trail, which can be followed too many other areas in the city as well.
Other major roads that provide easy access to nearby communities, universities and other establishments include 14 Street and 64 Avenue. However, residents don't have to take these roads to find grocery stores, restaurants, cafes, or even shopping, as there are many retail options within the community itself.
Separate and public schools are both readily available in Greenview for students of all ages. This includes the Colonel Sanders Elementary, Greenview Bilingual Elementary, Corpus Christi Elementary, and Thorncliffe Elementary.
Religious services are also available in nearby communities, such as the Calgary Word of Faith Church on 4 St NE. Residents will find that this neighbourhood is close to public transit for easy travels without having to drive.
Nose Hill Park is the most dominant recreation feature of Greenview. The pathway system is the easiest way to access this, and because it offers beautiful views, greenery, picnicking, and more, it's one of the most visited parks in all of Calgary as a whole. Within the community, there are also smaller parks as well as trees and pathways for exercise.
The community centre is another great place to find places for exercise. This features tennis courts, skating rinks, basketball courts, and many other athletic facilities both outdoors and indoors. It's also home to events and activities that are hosted by the residents of the community all throughout the year, such as the Stampede Breakfast.
