There are many community facilities that can be found in South Calgary, including the Alexander Calhoun Public Library. When it comes to shopping, the Marda Loop Shopping Centre is an excellent resource. This features over 130 retail stores and restaurants as well as hosted events throughout the year.

Residents can also travel to the nearby 17 Ave SW to find big box stores and boutiques, such as Best Buy and Swimco. For even more shopping, the CORE Shopping Centre on 8 Ave SW is a short drive away and offers hundreds of stores and dining options.


South Calgary Activities

South Calgary isn’t short on recreational opportunities with Elbow River being in such close proximity. With a short drive, it’s easy to visit River Park and Sandy Beach Park, both of which are on the edge of this beautiful river. For those who want to stay in the community, South Calgary Park is located right on 16 St SW and 32 Ave SW.

Golfers can find many courses nearby as well, including the Richmond Green Golf Course and Shaganappi Golf Course. The South Calgary Outdoor Pool is another popular place to visit when the temperatures outside soar.

Residents who don't mind taking a bit of a longer trip will be glad to find the Bow River is in close proximity. This features a number of beautiful parks as well as water-front meadows that offer ample space for outdoor recreation.
