Cranston Real Estate Information

Although much of Calgary has a rich heritage, Cranston is one of the communities where this legacy is evident by the name alone. It pays homage to Archibald Cranston, who came to Calgary in 1901 and created farms in the fertile land. Over time he continued to purchase more land until he owned enough space to grow crops for his family of eight. More than 75 years later, in 1976, the Cranston family decided to sell their property, although the land was still put to use until 1999 when the community officially came under development.

The community of Cranston is bordered by Marquis De Lorne Trail to the north. The Bow River and Fish Creek share its immediate boundaries to the west while Deerfoot Trail shares its borders on the east. On the eastern borders is also found Auburn Bay community, the Calgary South Health Campus hospital and the Seton Centre. 42nd Street SE runs on the western borders of this community.
