During the development stage, the majority of dwellings here were built by Engineered Homes LTD of Calgary. These were mostly single-family homes, although in time there were executive properties and condos built throughout the area as well. By the year 2014, the population of Lakeview was 5,476 of 2,287 dwellings total, with prices ranging depending on the property specifically.

The most expensive real estate in the area is the high-end homes or those that have been recently renovated. This development features larger and expensive homes that make up the southern border of the community.

This includes the Connect Charter School, Bishop Pinkham Junior High, Jennie Elliot Elementary, and Calgary Girls' School (which used to be Lakeview School). Residents seeking higher education will find Mt. Royal University immediately to the north and Ambrose University to the northwest in the community of Springbank Hill.

For those looking for religious facilities, there are several options in this neighbourhood. This includes St. Laurence Anglican, Lakeview United Church, and Rainbow Christian Church.

There are many dental and healthcare offices sprinkled throughout the area, with Rockyview General Hospital being only 3.3 km to the east.

To make the neighbourhood even more exciting, Lakeview has an incredibly involved community association. It regularly hosts events such as bake sales, craft nights, and pub crawls for residents to get involved with. And for those looking for something a little different to do, the Grey Eagle Resort and Casino is just 2.9 km away from the community.

While Lakeview is mostly made up of residents who drive, public transportation is another convenient option. City buses and the LRT travel from here to communities all around the city, including the downtown area (which is 10.1 km to the north).


Lakeview Recreation Options

Recreation in Lakeview is unbeatable, especially with the Glenmore Reservoir north shore just minutes away. This features open meadows that overlook the water, which is where many residents take out small canoes, kayaks, and sailboats when the weather is nice.

There are also spots for picnicking, biking, running, and hiking that wind all throughout the park area. The Calgary Canoe Club is located here, which is just across the water from Heritage Park and the Heritage Park Historical Village.

West of the park area residents will find the Weaselhead Natural Area that's tucked right next to the winding Elbow River. This features some of the best hiking in Calgary as well as endless pathways for biking. Golf enthusiasts who live in Lakeview will also enjoy being close to some of the most beautiful courses in the area. This includes Earl Grey Golf Club, Lakeview Golf Course, and the Calgary Golf & Country Club, all of which are located minutes to the east of Lakeview.

Last but not least, this community has several small parks situated all throughout it, which are often locations for sports games for schools in the area. There's also a community centre that features a skating rink and activity facilities for residents.
