North Haven Neighbourhood Information
North Haven offers a variety of homes to accommodate a broad array of tastes. These styles include bungalow-style dwellings, 2-story split-level dwellings, condominiums, and luxury estates. Due to the topography of the land, many properties enjoy having sloping backyards or front yards with incredible views of the area. While the prices of this range, the average listing is in the high $500,000’s for a single-family property. Condos can be found for less for anyone who is looking for a way to get into the area while on a budget.
With Nose Hill Park bordering the west and John Laurie Blvd NW bordering the east, residents who live here can easily access neighbouring communities as well as the rest of the city. For older children, the community is served by North Haven Elementary (public school). Healthcare is also in close proximity, with Alberta Children's Hospital and Foothills Medical Centre both being less than 7km to the southwest as well. Peter Lougheed Centre Hospital is less than 12 km to the southeast. There are many opportunities for shopping and dining in the area, especially with Downtown Calgary being only 12km to the south. The Beddington Towne Centre is an excellent place to shop to the north, However, to the east of the community is the Deerfoot City Shopping Centre, which is a massive mall with dining, retail stores, and big-box stores surrounding it.
North Haven Recreation
Bordering the west side of North Haven is Nose Hill Park, which acts as the biggest recreational treasure for residents here. The large open space is perfect for activities and sports all throughout the year. Towards the south end of the park, visitors will also find the Calgary Winter Club, which is a massive indoor recreation facility perfect for the cold and snowy winter months. With North Haven residents having access through the pathway system, it's easy for them to visit the park without having to drive.
There's also green space within the community itself, especially on the northeast side in Egerts Park. Just 2km to the southeast of this is the Highwood Outdoor Pool and 4km to the northeast is the Thornhill Aquatic & Recreation Centre. Golf enthusiasts will enjoy being in close proximity to many courses, including the Confederation Park Golf Course to the southwest, the McCall Lake Golf Course to the southeast, and Beddington Golf Park and Country Hills Golf Course to the north
