For those who are looking for more shopping opportunities, Crowfoot Crossing is in close proximity, being just a 10-minute drive to the east. Market Mall, which has a number of stores and local restaurants, is also nearby being less than 15km to the east. For all other shopping, Crowchild Trail NW that borders the south side of the community can connect residents to all other areas of the city, including downtown.
Another excellent resource is the Royal Oak Shopping Centre that's minutes to the northeast of Rocky Ridge. This is situated next to the University of Calgary Spy Hill Campus for higher education students. Residents who need elementary and high school education can find it in neighbouring communities including Royal Oak. For health care residents don't have to travel far, as the Rockford Medical Clinic is situated on the east side of the community on Rocky Ridge Rd NW. Residents here also have access to the Ranch Centre, which overlooks a lake and has playgrounds, recreation facilities, a tennis court, and ample outdoor space.
Golf is also in close proximity for those who live here, with the Bearspaw Country Club touching the northwestern tip of the community. Another close by recreation amenities is the Bow River Valley, which is minutes south of the neighbourhood just north of Valley Ridge. Valley Ridge is also home to a large golf course that’s a great alternative to Bearspaw.
